Dermal Fillers with The Beautox Nurse

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are a popular, FDA approved substance, that can add definition and volume to provide a more youthful appearance.  This treatment is most often done in the lips, jaw/chin, cheeks, and tear troughs. Most Dermal Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid. The Beautox Nurse provides a thorough consultation to help determine the amount of filler needed and what treatment is best for each individual client.

dermal filler FAQ's

how long do dermal fillers last?

  • Results can be immediately seen after your first treatment with full results being visible in 2 to 4 weeks.

  • Remember, they are not permanent, our bodies absorb the filler over time depending on each individual.

  • Regular, repeated treatment is advised with results lasting anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.

are dermal fillers and botox the same?

  • Their end result is similar in that they provide a youthful appearance by reducing fine lines and wrinkles however they accomplish this in different ways.

  • Botox essentially freezes your muscles under the skin to prevent movement and further wrinkling/contraction.

  • Dermal Fillers focus on plumping skin that has hollowed due to aging.

  • For general, fixed (non-muscular) wrinkles, dermal fillers are the best option.

What should i expect after a dermal filler treatment?

  • Some redness, bruising, and/or swelling may occur but this non-invasive treatment lets you get back to your busy life right away; sorry, no Doctor's note needed for this treatment.

can dermal fillers move?

  • I pride myself on being honest with my clients and the truth is that, in short, yes filler can move in rare circumstances; it can also be dissolved if necessary.

  • Again, this is rare and can be avoided as long as you choose a qualified injector so be sure to do your research.

can I exercise...drink alcohol...go in the suN after a dermal filler treatment?

  • Exercise? Wait 24 to 48 hours before hitting the gym or getting in that cardio just to be on the safe side.

  • Sun? Put on that cute phedora you've been dying to wear for at least a week post treatment. Your skin will be sensitive and needs time away from the sun to heal; not to mention that sadly direct sunlight is never really good for our skin.

where are dermal fillers injected?

  • LIPS - discuss with The Beautox Nurse the look you're going for and we will determine the right treatment plan for you.  It may take a couple of sessions but we will get your desired look and shape.

  • JAW/CHIN - by adding filler to the jawline or chin can mimic the look of weight loss. By lengthening the chin and straightening out the hollows on either side you get outstanding results with a slimmer looking face. Keep in mind that BMI (Body Mass Index) and a strong, bulging masseter muscle  must be taken into consideration.

  • CHEEKS - again, filler in the cheeks can provide the illusion of weight loss with a more heart shaped face. It also helps those who have lost volume with age.

  • TEAR TROUGHS - are you suffering from bags or hollows under your eyes? Fillers can help! Smooth out under your eyes by adding volume. The ideal candidate should have sufficient skin thickness under the eye in order to hold the product well.
