The fears I hear about Botox or, as I often say, ‘Tox’

There are so many taboo rumours that go around about tox treatments!

  • Botox is only for wrinkles

  • Everyone will know I did Botox

  • I’ll look like a crazy plastic Barbie doll

  • If you stop using Botox, you’ll have more wrinkles

ACTUALLY… If you stop toxing, nothing bad will happen, your face will just go back to the way it was, or better, we’re freezing your muscle movement in time.

Seriously though, Botox is not only used for wrinkle prevention/ treatment, it can also be a lifesaver for:

  • Migraines/headaches

  • TMJ/ Bruxism/ teeth grinding

  • Neck tension

  • Calf reduction

  • Sweat reduction /Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating that’s only related to heat or exercise)

So you see, there are so many uses for Botox besides wrinkles.

If you’re nervous about getting Botox, I’m happy to walk you through the whole procedure, possible side effects, mechanism of action, duration of action, and the do’s and don’ts.

Botox starts to take effect within 4 days, but the full effect can be seen in 14 days! After you walk out of your tox appt, you won’t see any changes in your face, except for a few raised bumps that go away within 20 minutes.

Botox can last for 3-4 months; your face will return to how it was, or better. The more frozen your muscles are, the longer your Botox will last; if you prefer to be less frozen and have more movement, then don’t expect your Botox to last for the full 3-4 months. It can get confusing because we don’t want wrinkles, but we want movement, want it to look natural and not frozen, but be frozen all at the same time.

Do you know the most important factors when choosing your nurse injector?

I’ll give you a hint… it’s not the price they charge. More important than finding a good deal are things like:

  • Skills and expertise

  • Knowledge and Education

  • Safety and trust

When you buy a service like Botox, you are not just paying for what’s in the syringe. You’re paying for someone who knows how to use it safely and effectively. Someone who will listen to your concerns and questions and help you understand what's being done and why.

Choosing the right provider is the most important choice you’ll make when it comes to your injectables.

During your initial consult, we go through your Tox goals and aim to be on par with wrinkle reduction, no movement (or minimal), and looking natural with undetectable Botox to the untrained eye.

As your Beautox nurse, I am so happy to have this amazing privilege to help others feel beautiful and confident in their own skin.
