Creating Facial Symmetry with Profile Balancing

Our perception of what is attractive is similar for women and men.

They want balanced features on the face's right and left to be perfectly symmetrical.

In fact, several studies on facial appeal have found symmetry among your features to be the most important facial element in the perception of attractiveness. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholding.

TikTok and Instagram users are obsessed with facial symmetry, with more than 100m TikTok tag #symmetricalfaces.

Profile balancing has become increasingly popular in recent years; with social media and virtual meetings, many of us now look at our faces as a whole rather than at specific features.

Attractiveness is influenced by age, ethnicity, and culture. But proportional and balanced facial features influence physical appearance and attractiveness. Profile balancing harmonizes the features of the face, enhancing the facial profile, especially the side profile.

Nonsurgical procedures will enhance facial balance, proportion, and facial characteristics. While surgical options exist, patients may want a less invasive and inexpensive option with dermal fillers.

To achieve natural and balanced results, I always encourage a combination of treatments by injecting filler into the lips, cheeks, and chin.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected into the skin to enhance or contour one’s face, lips, and cheeks to create a balanced profile. It can also be used to decrease the size of facial lines or folds.

Lips – For lips, fillers are a standard procedure at The Beautox Nurse and depending on the look you are going for, a treatment plan will be discussed. We can achieve an extremely subtle enhancement or a more plumped and volumized lip. Keep in mind, for any treatment, it could take a couple of sessions to achieve the desired look and balance.

Cheeks - Often, patients come in for Dermal Fillers to give the illusion of a slimmer, more heart-shaped face. After your initial consultation with The Beautox Nurse, Miriam will determine which treatment is best for you. Everyone’s Zygomatic (Cheek) Bone is angled differently; thus, strategic filler placement is necessary to give your cheeks the ‘contoured’ look. Additionally, fillers in the cheek area can give those who have lost volume with age a more youthful appearance.

Chin - By lengthening the chin and filling in the hollows on either side, the results can be outstanding in providing the look of a slimmer face. This is one of the most popular and effective procedures within the medical aesthetic industry, and the results are phenomenal.

Lower Facial Balance

The mental crease, also referred to as the labiomental groove, refers to the horizontal crease between under your lower lip and above the chin.

With age, the lower face starts to show subtle signs of aging, such as the drooping of the corners of the mouth, the chin becoming more inverted, the jowls starting to form, and marionette lines becoming slightly deeper.

One thing that can address lower facial balance is mental crease filler. Mental crease filler can help elongate and soften your chin and leave you with a more balanced lower face on the front and side profile. It can also provide support for your lower lip! This might be the best solution for you if you have a stubborn chin crease that is apparent even when your face is relaxed.

As your injector nurse, I will profile your whole facial appearance and suggest the best ways to create balance and symmetry.
